Half Marathon Attempt # 2

And a much better attempt at that.....I totally impressed myself!!!  The first go around I didn't make the goal of running the entire distance....and posted my worst time....I believe it was 2:39

So for my dearest and best friend Auntie Amber....I committed to running in the Girls Inc 1/2 Marathon and in the end, I'm really glad I did.  The weather was great, my mom brought the kids....and once again, we got to eat lunch at Longhorns.

Here are the girls....patiently waiting for mommy's return....I could not resist, this is the cutest picture to me

And major kudos to Nana for catching this shot of me coming across the finish line....with my time!!!
I conquered two goals this day
Goal 1: Run the entire distance without stopping
Goal 2: Finish under 2 hours & 15 minutes

May not have beat it by much.....but all that matters is....I beat it!!

Summer Park Fun

I got the chance to take the girls to the park down by the Tyndall bridge the other day and boy did they have a blast.  They played in the water for a little while....those pictures to soon follow.....but before leaving we also played on their playground for a few minute and I snapped a few pictures.

Here of course is Miss Princess herself.....

And just look at her pose?????  I sure hope she always keeps this smile.

And how dare me even try to get them to stand close to one another so I could get a picture of them TOGETHER...........

1st try

2nd try..........

3rd try and I give up!!!

2010 Fair

As whiney and dramatic as my wonderful little Taylor is at times...somehow she did get the trait of loving the thrill rides.....so it was a wonderful treat to take her to the fair this year.  As unpleasant as it is for me to be there, it is TOTALLY worth it to watch her have sooooo much fun.

I'm not real sure why the look on the face but it looks as though she is scared to death...

Proud as ever!

Nana went with us to the fair and when she saw the duck pond she was INSISTENT that the girls get a chance to play as it was always Nana's favorite.....so, we did, and boy was it the best ever.  The girls just LOVED picking the ducks up out of the water....we only paid for 3 chances, but I think they both played about 10 times.

And of course every player is a winner so they got to pick their prizes......I was a tad shocked at what they decided to take home....Taylor with her dolphin float????

And Tori with her "duckie"

It cost $20 per person for an arm band....no matter what age....and this was one of only about 3 rides that Tori rode all night.......yes, a waste.....but who knew....and in the end, this smile made it all worth it

And once again....we have the dare devil Taylor riding her motorcycle one handed while she gives her daddy "5"

And this, the best one yet....a roller coaster....Bryan stood in line with her the whole time....got ready to get on and she says.....NO DADDY I'm going by myself.....and of course got off and wanted to immediately ride again....the second time she went straight to the front seat.....that's my girl!!!

No matter how big or how small.....she loves them all....

And I'm pretty sure in the end....the fast race cars....wait, specifically the pink, fast race car.....was her favorite....and shy...not this time....the other little girl was already in the car....Taylor didn't care, she ran right over there and hopped right in with her....

The BIG 4

Well, we celebrated Taylor's 4th Birthday on Tuesday....and it was a mommy & Taylor day.

We started out at Lisa's Nails getting our finger & toes painted

Then we went to play in the sand at the beach.  I have lived here my entire life....and have NEVER seen such a beautiful day......

TOTALLY clear blue skies....high of maybe 78....and just look at this water

We headed up to the back deck at Schooner's....so we could eat looking over the beautiful white, sandy beaches and that awesome clear blue water.  Our waitress was an old friend I have not seen since high school...she was sweet enough to take this picture of me and the Birthday Girl.

And better yet....she brought Taylor her own molten lava Birthday cupcake....sparkler & all.....Taylor was SOOOOO excited!!! (And so was I)

And we wrapped our afternoon up with some fishing on N Lagoon.  Taylor is certainly NOT scared of a fish.  We caught about 12 of these little things...which made for a GREAT afternoon!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.....to the most wonderful 4 year old in the world!!
I LOVE YOU TAYLOR BUG!!

13.1

As my running endeavors have continued....I actually dedicated myself to running my first half marathon. So a few weeks back I woke up at the crack of dawn...to go to Pier Park....to run 13.1 miles....CRAZY....I know....It was a TERRIBLY hot day...I ended up walking about 2 miles of it but hey, I still crossed the finish line....and I wasn't last!!

Here's me and my running buddy immediately after the race!

Here is the awesome made in China medal we got for crossing the finish line!!

And for some reason I thought (ahead of time) that taking the girls to ride the rides at Pier Park after the race would be a ton of fun......while in reality it was for them......it might have been one of the worst decisions ever made for me!!!  I was TOTALLY exhausted....
